Stubborn Persistent Pain is one of the most common problems we see at PPC

And when it comes time to finally do something about it, everyone we see wants to know…

“Will I ever be able to live without this pain?”

Most people have already tried the typical treatments to manage their pain, including pain pills, injections, rest, ice/heat, therapy of various sorts and they just haven’t seen the lasting results they were hoping for. And if this tells your story, you’re not alone! The reason these options often don’t work is that they’re not addressing the root of the problem, which is a fundamental ‘stuck’ point in the healing process itself OR a dysfunction of the nerves that carry the pain signals to your brain.

Fortunately, there are more advanced treatment options for managing chronic pain, and we are proud to be the first in our area to bring them to you! We believe your body has an innate power to heal itself, and through our therapy and services we are simply guiding your body to more efficiently repair damaged tissues and decrease pain. At PPC we are proud to offer a comprehensive array of Regenerative Therapy Services to not only address chronic soft tissue injuries but also chronic nerve pain as well.

What is Shockwave?

Shockwave also known as Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT) is the most advanced non-invasive treatment solution approved by the FDA for tissue repair and regeneration. It harnesses high energy acoustic waves to accelerate the healing process by stimulating cellular metabolism and enhancing blood flow. This allows tissues to regenerate and eventually heal.

How Does Shockwave Work?

Persistent pain can often be a result of the body getting stuck or stalled somewhere in it’s normal healing process. Shockwave works to jumpstart your body’s natural healing process again. When we exercise, we create small microtears in our muscles, which then triggers your body to initiate the healing process. This healing process “knits” the tissue together to be stronger than it was before, which is why if you continue to exercise, your muscles become stronger and more durable. Similar to the microtears from exercise, Shockwave creates small microtears in the tissues, which stimulates your body’s natural repair and rejuvenation process in the damaged tissue. Additionally, Shockwave increases circulation to the treatment area, which brings in much needed nutrients and building blocks while removing toxins and waste products.

Shockwave accelerates the healing process by stimulating the cellular repair process exactly where it’s needed and by increasing microcirculation around the damaged tissue.

Shockwave is non-invasive and penetrates up to 5cm, which allows us to target tendons, ligaments, fascia, muscles, trigger points, nerves, scar tissue and skin. The result of the treatment is often associated with decreased muscle tension in the area it is applied. And a treatment application takes approximately 10 minutes, so it’s a convenient option no matter what time constraints you may have!

Who is Shockwave Perfect For?

Shockwave is perfect for many soft tissue injuries, particularly those associated with overuse in tendons and fascia

The research shows Shockwave to be leading the field of Regenerative Therapy for soft tissue injuries, and is found to be more effective than biologic injections of stem cells or platelet-rich plasma (PRP). In addition to being considerably more cost effective than injections, Shockwave has the added benefit of being non-invasive with minimal to no side effects.

Additionally, Shockwave has a profound foothold in the world of Aesthetics, and we are proud to be the first in our community to bring you this cutting edge technology.

Common complaints we use Regenerative Therapy Services for include:

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Achilles Tendon Issues
  • Tennis Elbow/Golfers Elbow
  • Rotator Cuff Issues
  • Outer Hip Pain
  • Aesthetics:
  • Stretch Marks
  • Cellulite
  • Scars
  • Wrinkles

What is Radiofrequency?

Transcutaneous Pulsed Radiofrequency (TPRF) is the most advanced non-invasive treatment solution cleared by the FDA for managing chronic pain AND restoring nerve function by altering and improving gene expression within the nerve. It utilizes pulsed radiofrequency bursts to propagate energy along the targeted nerve to that nerve’s mitochondria. At this point, many biological cascades are triggered causing gene expression changes for long-lasting restoration of that nerve’s functionality.

In addition to providing short-term pain relief, you can expect TPRF to provide a long-term solution to your pain by finally addressing the root problem.

How Does Radiofrequency Work?

When you sustain an injury and the tissue heals, the pain should diminish and go away. But with chronic pain, we now understand that the nerves themselves can switch their gene expression into what is called a “neuropathic state”. This altered state of dysfunction in the nerve facilitates a continued feedback loop of pain and could be one reason none of the common pain treatments have worked for you. TPRF works at the deep cellular level of the mitochondria to reverse the gene expression from a neuropathic state to its normal functioning state.

And all of this is done in a non-invasisive approach with no side effects!

The specific TPRF we offer at PPC uses a proprietary hybrid radiofrequency waveform. The benefits of this hybrid approach allow you to get both the short-term pain control you want as well as the long-term solution to the root cause of the problem, which lies in the gene expression of the nerve itself.

TPRF is non-invasive and is used throughout the body to reduce pain and improve function by restoring the function of your nerves.

Who is Radiofrequency Perfect For?

While TPRF does provide short-term pain relief, we see the benefits of restoring nerve function help many clients whose chief complaint isn’t pain. The following are the most common and most successful complaints addressed by TPRF:

  • Urinary Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction
  • Chronic Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Diabetic Neuropathy
  • Bells Palsy
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • PTSD

Benefits of Radiofrequency and Shockwave Together

While both forms of Regenerative Therapy are successful when used in isolation, there is a power effect of harnessing the benefits of both simultaneously on the same painful tissue. Where Shockwave stimulates your body’s natural repair and rejuvenation at the cellular level of the injured tissue, Radiofrequency restores the nerve function to the nerves that supply that injured tissue.

Addressing both the local damaged tissue and it’s associated nerve allows for a holistic and comprehensive solution to your most stubborn pain.

Additional benefits include:

  • No anaesthesia required
  • No risk of infection
  • No scarring
  • No downtime
  • Faster, easier healing
